To The content delivery platform Akamai faced a service disruption last night. However, the outage was only for a limited time and the services were soon resumed as usual. The outage caused difficulties in loading certain websites and apps where users from India, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand would have faced difficulties in opening certain websites and apps.
Generally, most websites rely on cloud service providers and content delivery networks to run their content successfully. Experts have said that outage like this are usually caused due to some technical glitches. Akamai, on the other hand, tweeted from its Twitter handle that they are investigating the cause and will provide an update within half an hour. Last month also, American cloud service provider Fastly reported a downtime like this which resulted in major service outage for websites like Amazon, Reddit, Twitch, Financial Times, New York Times, Bloomberg News and many more.
Akamai is among the largest cloud service providers in the world and outages like this sound quite strange. However, the company was able to fix the issue within time and resumed all its services swiftly. The company also assured its users that it make sure that outages like this doesn’t happen again and for this, a dedicated expert’s technical team have been put on work to make sure that users enjoy safe and secure browsing.
