After a decade period finally, Redmond, Washington based tech giant company finally stopped the support for the Windows 7 Operating system. As we know that Windows 7 is an 11-year-old operating system that is used widely across the globe due to its easy to use features. The much-liked operating system has finally lost support from the tech giant Microsoft.
At present switching away from windows 7 is the main concern of most of the users. Because Microsoft will no longer support its decade-old Windows 7 OS, one of the company’s most flourishing products to date. This statement simply means that the company will no longer release any new patches for Windows 7 bugs or any technical assistance for the OS. And it also means that the systems running this OS are more vulnerable to bugs and security issues.

The company wrote in a note to users that -“Microsoft strongly recommends that you move to Windows 10 sometime before January 2020 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available,” company said.
Windows 7 Operating system was released in October 2009, providing an extremely better and stable experience to its worldwide users than its forerunner, Vista. At this time, though, it’s very outdated because the company offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 back in 2015 and 2016 to its users. The company also said that if you are still running Windows 7 then you might probably have seen notifications about the end of support. And now, it’s truly the right time to move on and switch to Windows 10 OS.
“If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses,” says Microsoft. “Your PC will continue to start and run, but you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft.”
In addition to this, at present, the Redmond, Washington based tech giant company is encouraging people to upgrade to its Windows 10 operating system for just $139. The company also offered a free upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 when Microsoft launched its most up-to-date OS more than 4 years ago.
Working with Windows 7 OS was reasonable before; now it’s a responsibility. If you are using this OS without any security updates then your system is at risk. Like other operating systems in the marketplace, Microsoft on a regular basis ends support for its obsolete software’s. The Redmond, Washington based tech giant stopped supporting Windows XP in 2014 and Windows 8 in 2016.
For now, the company is literally not pulling the point on your devices. But Windows 7 won’t get any further updates or security patches.
However, there is no need to get worried as the end of something is linked with new beginnings. PCs running Windows 7 won’t right away stop working, nor should they become prone to safety risks suddenly. So, relax and take time to back up your files to a new computer that fits your requirements or simply switch to Windows 10 OS.
