WhatsApp is working on a host of new features for its platform. These features like Message Reporting are aimed at helping WhatsApp users to report messages containing false information, others like New Video Controls are aimed at giving them greater control over the videos that they share on the messaging app. Now, word is that the Facebook-owned messaging app is working on a new feature that is mostly aimed at WhatsApp groups. The Facebook-owned messaging app will roll it out to the main app when it is done ironing out all the bugs.
WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is working on a new Group Icon Editor feature for its Android and iOS-based apps. This new feature will in effect add an editor to WhatsApp groups that will help users to get creative with their WhatsApp group display pictures. As of now, WhatsApp users can either click a new picture using WhatsApp’s built-in camera app or choose one from their phone’s gallery. But there is no way of using creative elements such as stickers or emojis as the group display picture.
If you are using WhatsApp’s beta app, you can open Group Info and tap the camera icon to change the group icon. If you see a new option called ‘Emoji & Sticker’ button, it means you can start using the feature.WhatsApp’s new Group Icon Editor feature is available on WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.190.11 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.20.2, but it may have bugs in it at the moment and this process will ensure they are eliminated.
