Yes, you heard right, Google is going to game-over of YouTube gaming app. Though, users will be able to find their gaming videos on a dedicated channel on the main YouTube app. Google gave a statement for gaming app lovers. And according to the statement,” the shutdown should not affect viewers much”. And Google also mentions that “they can start enjoying their favorite games on the gaming homepage in the main YouTube app”.  All these things can be done in YouTube Gaming app setting.

Actually, all this already began last year, so it’s a wonder why Gaming is still around. If you were a user of the app, you have a few times left with it before you’ll be forced over to the main app’s Gaming section. The attractiveness of YouTube Gaming is why it’s shutting down since the company wants to keep everything in one basket. Google is doing all this to build a stronger home for the gaming community that thrives on YouTube.

But wait, YouTube is coming up with new gaming section….

But, before the days of Twitch, YouTube was the one place we all went for gaming content. There they will guide on how to complete quests or videos, or boss battles that dove deep into a game’s story. YouTube was the place to find it all. The company launched YouTube Gaming to combat the rising popularity of Twitch, in 2015. No just this, it also ended up being a testing ground of sorts for things like a dark theme, and Channel Memberships. But in a weird or odd turn of events, the popularity of the service (according to YouTube, at least) is leading to its shutdown in March 2019.

In an attempt to bring everyone back under its proverbial roof, YouTube is adding a new Gaming section to its site. This section features personalized content based on the games you like to watch. In fact, it mixes the latest videos from your favorite creators and streams from those who are living at that given moment. This, as YouTube says, leads to the “best of uploaded videos and live gaming [in] one destination.”

The new game pages will open up new avenues of discoverability, based on the titles you already enjoy. At here, you’ll find live streams, popular uploads, and other content from that publisher that last bit could get messy if you’re looking at an Activision game. YouTube didn’t entirely clear on how this works. But according to sources, it involves selecting 23 videos on different games from different creators to figure it out lead to just the normal suggestions in the right bar. Finally, YouTube is trying to shine a light on new creators with its “On the Rise” section, a curate spot for you to find new people to watch.
