BBM will Shortly be Ended with its Messaging Services

The primary reason for BBM ending…

The BlackBerry messaging service of BB phones is going away. Emtek is the company who is running the former BlackBerry Messenger services from a long time; will no longer use this service anymore, because BlackBerry Messenger Services will be shut down on May 31. Emtek founded in 1983 as PT Elang Mahkot Teknologi the Emtek Group. Emtek Company is providing personal computer services. The Emtek Group has grown into an integrated and modern group of companies with three business divisions Media, Telecommunications, IT solution and connectivity. The Emtek company said in their post “Three years ago, we set out to reinvigorate BlackBerry Messenger consumer service and we poured our hearts into making this a reality” and they also mention ‘we are proud of what we have built to date’.

They continue with the statement “The technology industry though, is very fluid, and in spite of our substantial efforts, customers have moved on to other platforms, although new customers proved difficult to sign on”. BlackBerry Messenger users will no longer be capable to open the app to view old photos, documents, and old messages. But they can freely open their videos, files, and photos before May 31. However, they won’t be able to keep any stickers they have purchased or personalized emoji they may have created with the BBMoji services given by BBM Company. The end of messaging services was started from AIM, and then Yahoo Messenger also ended up with their latest messaging services and now BlackBerry messaging service will die soon.

The primary reason for BBM ending…

The time when BB means BlackBerry devices were among the most famous smartphones, BlackBerry served a similar role for the BlackBerry devices as iMessage plays on iPhones nowadays. The customers stuck with the default messaging services for BB devices because it was only available on BB handsets and this was one of the primary reasons. But usage of BBM initiated to be overtaken by iMessage and other services after Android-based and iPhone-based devices took over the smartphone market. Smartphone messaging leaders now include not just iMessage, but they also take in WeChat and Facebook-owned Whatsapp and Messanger.

But to courtyard customers on other devices, BB later opened up BBM to owners of Android phones and iPhones. In the year of 2015, it said it had 140M registered users on those non-BB devices. And Emtek Company acquired the rights to BlackBerry Messaging from BlackBerry in 2016. BB held on to the enterprise version on BlackBerry Messaging that it offers to corporate users. The enterprise BlackBerry is still alive. As Emtek company that now runs the messaging service, tried to get back it, but users have moved on from this BBM services. So, all the BBM users who have not downloaded their personal files yet, you all need to download your files and photos or videos from the services before it shuts down, otherwise, you won’t be able to access them afterward
