Google Photos To Inform Users About The Longevity Of Their Storage Plan

Google Photos app is recently rolled out with a new feature that allows its users to learn about the longevity of their current storage plan. It was officially intimated by Google that it is soon going to end unlimited zero cost storage from 1^st June 2021 and will only offer the 15GB storage cap for free.

Users who find the 15GB cap insufficient for storage purposes can purchase a plan from Google and store media on Google Photos application. This development was revealed via a series of official tweets by David Lieb who happens to be the Product Lead at Google Photos.

The total storage left for each user will entirely depend on the plan he is currently using. Users who haven’t purchased a plan will get a free access to 15GB storage with their Google Accounts. Using Google Photos app, users can easily learn about how long their storage will actually last.

This information will entirely depend on how frequently users will backup their photos and videos to their respective Google accounts. Users can even learn about the total amount of space taken up by each videos and photos on their Google accounts.

High resolution media already uploaded prior to 1^st June, 2021 will not be counted for the 15GB zero cost media storage. Google is also currently working on developing a free tool to the Google Photos application. This new tool will supposedly help users in the easy management of backed-up videos and photos.
