Vodafone-Idea has proclaimed its latest partnership with Firework TV, a Silicon-Valley based short story/video publishing platform, and will introduce short videos on its Play app.
Alphabet’s Google Inc. had announced that it was planning to show videos from Firework TV on its Discover feed in India. However, Vi took the chance and has become the first telecom operator to introduce short video content. The company said in a press statement that Firework’s 30 second short Stories format will be available on the Vi Play app. Unlike other platforms that started promoting short video content on their platforms, Firework TV will allow users to post the videos anywhere and not just on one app.
The deal will give VI access to Firework’s huge content library from global content studios and the unmatched occupational generated content (OGC) creators who are versatile storytellers, said the company. “We provide an array of content from multiple OTT players varying across genres like Live TV, Movies, and Web Series in multiple languages on Vi Movies and TV app. Vi is excited to be the 1st Telco to partner with Firework for powering the most trending short videos, specially curated for Vi customers. The format is designed to entertain you in “30 seconds” across various categories and interests” Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vi in a statement.

The pact will mutually help intensify Vi’s customer experience and Firework TV’s reach in India. With the features brought up by Firework, creators will be able to post their videos on the web and can be expanded to more than 500 publisher partners across the world. Firework’s content partners include Bloomberg, NDTV, Condenast, Xiaomi, and Samsung among others.
