Southeast Asia’s start-up scene is representing enhanced potential investment as the Covid-19 pandemic has transferred gesture for the long-term, one of the leading regional travel capital companies said. In spite of such a “devastating” effect, the downturn has delivered a wide number of opportunities for the latest start-ups in the region.
Managing partner of Indonesia-based East Ventures, Roderick Purwana, opined nothing that he has observed a few new businesses originated during this pandemic period. He also said that it is particularly related to the latest businesses to virtual adaptation including health technology, education technology, and technology of finance, which has always remained a true success story.
Purwana told that “Street Signs Asia” that indicates, any sort of crisis accompanies new opportunities. They have seen this development not just bind within certain areas, but it expands in Asia’ most parts. He said that they have noticed some of the huge or most promising start-up businesses or tech organizations are established during this crisis time. He mentioning previous historic downturns like the dot-com bust and Financial Crisis in 2008. He thinks this one will be no different.
Comments made by Purwana appear as Southeast Asia’s start-up companies have been achieving ground on the world stage. On Monday, the ride-hailing giant of Indonesia Gojek declared that it had assembled with Tokopedia, an eCommerce player to conduct GoTo Group. This deal is noticed as a deterrent policy as the organization develops to go public at an estimated price of $35 billion to $40 billion.
