Google will start rolling out several updates to its Chrome web browser today, to increase user productivity and speed up the browsing experience. Specifically, Google makes it easier and faster to use the Chrome tabs and its newer tab groups. It promises improvements under the hood that will deliver up to 10 percent faster page loads and reduce the impact of idle background tabs.
Together, the entire range of new features answers issues of Chrome power users who prefer to keep several tabs open at once and frequently function in their browser.
Google launched tab groups this Year, initially in beta. The feature allows users to add their open tabs to a group that they can then name and label, keep organized their different projects, tasks, applications, and other online research. Tab groups will roll out to all users within this release.
Based on feedback from beta-users, Google is also tweaking how tab groups work.
Chrome will now help users to collapse and extend their tab classes, enabling you to concentrate on those you need to use right away. Google says this was the most popular request it heard during tests from those who used tab groups. Google is now launching a new touchscreen interface for tabs intended to be used in notebook mode for notebooks, first coming to Chromebooks. This will make the flip through the tabs easier for users.
In the edition of Chrome for Android, once you start typing a page in the address bar, you can see a prompt to turn to that tab if it is already open. Android users will also gain simplified sharing of URLs to make it easier to copy links and share them with other devices or to send links via other applications.
They will also be able to print the page, or even generate QR code for scanning or downloading. The new QR code feature will also make its way to Chrome on the desktop and will be accessible in the Chrome address bar from a new QR code icon.

In this latest update, Google will also start pushing out what is sure to be a very common new feature — the ability to fill out and download PDF forms directly from Chrome. You can even reopen these files, and pick up where you left off. But that feature will roll out slowly over the next few weeks, says Google.
Meanwhile, the Chrome browser’s beta version introduces a feature that lets you swing over a tab to see a preview of the page’s thumbnail. This could be especially useful in those times when you have lots of open tabs from the same domain, like Google Docs.
Chrome has been widely criticized for being slow on Mac and a resource hog. Although user concerns can be attributed to several issues, consumers can eventually fault the app and not the operating system it runs on.
