The “Call of Duty” video game is one of the popular first-person shooter franchise, which just released more than 100 million downloads in its initial 7 days of its launch, according to the analytics firm Sensor Tower reports. 100 million downloads in its initial 7 days are the maximum number of downloads for any mobile title in its first week of launch. The game is at first free to play and later the user can come with in-app purchases where users can pay money for skins for weapons and other equipment to boost up their performances. That freemium model of the game has proven thriving with the likes of “Fortnite” and “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” which have enticed in infinite revenues thanks to gamers buying paid add-ons.
In addition to above, the game is launched by publisher Activision a few days back, “Call of Duty: Mobile” game features are somehow similar to previous franchise titles that players are using their thumbs to move around and injure enemies. The game comes with maps just like “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare” and “Call of Duty: Black Ops.”
This is so far the latest title in the enormously well-liked Call of Duty franchise that has been well established by gamers, according to the download statistics from Sensor Tower. The company reported that the game, which was released on 1 October, had to date enjoyed the major mobile launch so far. Call of Duty is a PC and console title with modern Warfare, is soon intended to release on 25 October. The release of this app is gaining huge popularity among social media users and some of them have even pre-ordered the game.
The leading video game owners have been looking to cash in on the mount of mobile gaming, with Nintendo having lately released a mobile version of its Mario Kart franchise called “Mario Kart Tour.” According to market research, the mobile gaming marketplace will generate about $68.5 billion in revenue this year, which will eventually boost the accounting economy by 45%.

Meanwhile, the shares of Activision Blizzard game are down about 0.4% on Tuesday. To this the company has before described 2019 as a “transition year,” for their finances and also announced earlier that this year the company is going to cut approximately 800 jobs while focusing more on its leading franchises, “Call of Duty,” “Candy Crush,” “Warcraft,” “Overwatch,” “Diablo” and“Hearthstone.”
According to James Batchelor, UK Editor at GamesIndustry.biz the backlash is likely to cause severe business problems for Activision Blizzard.
“It’s negative PR and that’s never great for a company but I can’t remember an instance where a consumer-led boycott has led to a significant drop in sales in the video games industry,” James Batchelor told the BBC.
“These games have such a vast audience that I would almost say almost half don’t even know what’s happening… The vast majority of Call of Duty players are so casual, so mainstream.”
For now, Call of Duty Mobile video game got off to a hot start, beating approx 20 million installs within just 24 hours.
