If you are an Android user and prefer using Whatsapp for all your professional and personal interactions then here is good news for you. Whatsapp is soon going to introduce face unlock feature on Android for better security.
The new feature will allow you to open your Whatsapp using face unlock. Currently android users have the option to unlock their Whatsapp using the fingerprint lock option. This new feature is only available for android users as the Whatsapp for iOS already has the option to unlock their Whatsapp via face unlock feature.
As per the reports, the fingerprint lock shall be renamed as the “biometric lock” as soon as this upcoming feature is added to the Whatsapp android version. The new face unlock feature shall be available to Whatsapp users anytime soon as the Google Play store beta program has already received the update from the company.
However, the release date for this new face unlock feature is not yet announced by Whatsapp but as per the official report, this update is device centric and shall be supported only on android devices that has the required sensors. Also, the users will be required to reset their face unlock in case they move their whatsapp account to another smartphone.
Facebook-owned Whatsapp is also planning to introduce some other interesting features in the nearing time to enhance its overall utility. Features that will enable users to have a calling experience similar to Zoom and Skype calls shall also be introduced anytime soon. These features will allow users to join an ongoing whatsapp call even if they have missed that call. Recently, whatsapp has even come up with an “Always Mute Option” for leveraging the overall experience of its users.
