In a bid towards eradicating road threats from Taleigaa, Goa, over 38 potholes along with 80 other road safety-related issues have been marked in the village on the PinIt app. The data was collected and handed over to the Taleigao panchayat to set up a road safety committee to resolve the issues.
This was the collective efforts of ActforGoa, NineStack, and Cecile Rodrigues who started the Rosto campaign focusing on road safety issues. Their collaborative initiative led to the marking of the road issues on the app. The detailed data was submitted to the village panchayat to include in the Village Development Plan, commonly known as VDP.
Apart from the 38 potholes, other issues that were noted include 18 unpainted speed breakers, 24 missing or broken signboards, 13 broken street lamps, and 4 patches of uneven roads across the village.
