Apple has removed Vybe Together- an iPhone app that was promoting private parties during the Covid-19 pandemic. The now-deleted FAQ page of the app had said that it was created to promote “small gatherings” and not “big parties.” The Vybe Together app has also been banned on TikTok.

The creators of the app said that Apple was the one to take it off the App Store. It promoted ‘gatherings every weekend’ and the upcoming New Year’s Eve party in a TikTok video. The app had 25 ratings before it was removed from the App Store and has over 1,000 followers on Instagram. The app was previously launched with the name Trendies, a name that is also mentioned on its Instagram page. The Instagram account of the app now contains a single text post that reads ‘Blown out of proportion by media’ and ‘We DO NOT CONDONE LARGE GATHERINGS’.

The Vybe Together app’s website also put up a “Vybe House” ad for the 2021 Zamna Festival music event in Tulum, Mexico. The app kept a low-key profile although it was mentioned in at least one invitation to a New York party in September.
